The Commissioner of the Federal Tax Service of Russia, Daniil Egorov, and Commissioner of the National Tax Service of the Republic of Korea, Daeji Kim, exchanged experiences on the use of advanced technologies and the digital transformation of tax administration during the visit of the South Korean delegation.

Daniil Egorov emphasized that the digital ecosystem developed by the Federal Tax Service of Russia is permanently being upgraded and assists in the improvement of tax administration quality and the development of favorable conditions for taxpayers. Deputy Commissioner of the FTS of Russia Andrey Budarin presented in-depth information on the development and implementation of the Online Cash Register, the application for self-employed citizens "My Tax," as well as the analytical tools of the Analytical VAT Platform.

The participants remarked that the information systems of the tax authorities in Russia and South Korea are similar. Thus, the Korean NTIS system developed in 2015 combines 30 previously existing separate systems and digital solutions. It allows to systematize data flows and work with big data, which contributes to increasing the efficiency of the workflow and provides better transparency. This is mainly similar to the Russian AIS Nalog-3 system, which makes all the FTS activities automatic.

Daeji Kim highly rated the achievements of the Federal Tax Service of Russia in the digital transformation of tax administration: "The development of digital tax administration in the Republic of Korea started in 1970. And I am very surprised at how rapidly, since 1991, you have managed to achieve such significant success and effectively and efficiently develop and implement such powerful information technologies. I believe that the Tax Service of Russia is a leader in digital tax administration today."

Following the meeting, both parties expressed hope for further effective cooperation. Since Russia and the Republic of Korea are strategic partners in trade and economy, the effective interaction of their tax authorities will be mutually beneficial and will contribute to business development in our countries.

In addition, within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held between experts of the State Tax Service of the Republic of Korea and the Federal Tax Service of Russia on the identification of tax evasion schemes using offshore jurisdictions. The parties also discussed the use of data obtained as part of the exchange of information for tax purposes.
