The Commissioners of the Federal Tax Service of Russia and the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia discussed the use of advanced technologies in tax administration

The cooperation and development trends between the tax authorities of Russia and Armenia, as well as the convergence of the national tax administration, were discussed at the meeting of the Commissioner of the FTS of Russia, Daniil Egorov, and the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Rustam Badasyan.

Daniil Egorov remarked that the digital tax administration ecosystem developed by the FTS of Russia is constantly being improved and assists in achieving the goals of improving tax administration efficiency and creating favorable conditions for taxpayers.

The analytics tools of the Analytical VAT Platform were presented by the Deputy Head of the Federal Tax Service of Russia, Alexander Egorichev. The Head of the Operational Control Directorate, Vladimir Maltsev, informed us about the development and implementation of the My Tax application for self-employed citizens. He recalled that since 2018, the citizens of the Eurasian Economic Union can also be registered as self-employed in Russia (the Eurasian Economic Union members are Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan). Representatives of the Armenian Party remarked on the simplicity and convenience of the application. The Commissioners discussed the capacity to adapt it in Armenia and its use by all EAEU countries. This will significantly contribute to the legalization of self-employed activities.

Daniil Egorov and Rustam Badasyan also emphasized that both the state and business benefit from the pilot projects’ development on the traceability of goods and the development of electronic document interchange within the EAEU. In addition, they agreed to conduct training events on transfer pricing within the framework of international cooperation against tax erosion. In conclusion, the Tax Commissioners of Russia and Armenia stressed the need for further cooperation between the tax authorities of our countries at the bilateral level and within the EAEU.
