Within the framework of the joint Russian-Greek Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, the Commissioner of the Federal Tax Service, Daniil Egorov, and the head of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue of Greece, Georgios Pitsilis, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Technical Cooperation in the Field of Tax Administration.

The Memorandum was the result of six months of cooperation between the Federal Tax Service and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue of Greece. The interaction between the tax administrations began following the agreements reached at the meeting of the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, on March 24–25, 2021.

In 2021, representatives of the Federal Tax Service of Russia held several meetings via videoconference with Greek colleagues, during which the parties shared the latest achievements in the field of digitalization of tax administration. The Federal Tax Service of Russia presented its solutions, such as the automated VAT control system, the Online Cash Register System, the digital tax regime for the self-employed, and interactive services.

Greek colleagues presented the MyDATA platform for collecting information on the income and expenses of taxpayers in electronic form. They also shared their experience in applying technologies to control the collection of taxes on e-commerce revenues, in particular the "Short-term Property Registry” digital solution, which allows to report the rental of property via Internet platforms.
