First meeting of BRICS Working Group on Client-Centric Approach in Tax Administration took place virtually on May 7, 2024, with attending participants from tax administrations of Russia, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Brazil, China, Ethiopia and India.
The co-leaders of the Working Group – Federal Tax Service of Russia and the Federal Tax Authority of the United Arab Emirates presented the goals of the Working Group, described the project approach that Working Group could follow. Participants of the meeting also discussed and agreed on main building blocks, which are to be covered within the scope of the project on Client-Centric Approach in Tax Administration, and main ideas standing behind each building block and topic.
The Project on Client-Centric Approach in Tax Administration will summarize BRICS tax authorities’ best practices dedicated to customer-centric approach in tax administration through the structured exchange of knowledge and experiences. The aim of the Project is to develop a guidance indicating the possibilities for advancement of a client-centric approach in tax administration and further capacity building among BRICS tax authorities.
