Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum

The FTS of Russia together with JSC "GNIVC" participated in the Second Russia-Africa Summit, Economic and Humanitarian Forum, which took place in St. Petersburg on July 27-28, 2023. The aim of the summit was to strengthen cooperation between Russia and African countries in the political, security, economic, scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The forum was attended by representatives of more than 40 African countries, including Egypt, South Africa, Eritrea, Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Mali, Central African Republic, Uganda, Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Libya, and others, as well as the 5 largest integration groupings of the African continent.

As part of the Forum's business program, Elisey Balta, Head of the International Cooperation and Capital Movement Control Directorate of the FTS of Russia, presented the FTS of Russia's digital transformation journey and spoke about digital solutions in the field of tax administration.

The Federal Tax Service also held meetings with representatives of financial and tax authorities and diplomatic missions from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Togo, Mali and Somalia.

Capacity building program for improving tax administration processes, which is implemented for foreign tax administrations upon request, was also introduced to the African colleagues.

The FTS of Russia provides technical assistance in different formats, which vary from organizing training seminars and courses for tax specialists in various areas of administration to providing direct technical assistance in the form of consultations or the implementation of projects to modernize information and analytical systems and introduce new digital solutions. Representatives of the Federal Tax Service of Russia and their African counterparts agreed to continue cooperation in the implementation of joint projects in the future.
