On October 13, 2023, The Annual Meeting of the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was held in Marrakech. The meeting was attended by top IMF and WB officials, as well as multiple representatives of finance ministries, tax administrations, central banks, and businesses from around the world.

Daniil Egorov participated in the World Bank and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings, as well as the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors' Meetings in Marrakech, Morocco.

The key topics of the Meetings included improving economic stability, ensuring transformational reforms, and revitalizing global cooperation.

The Federal Tax Service of Russia organized a panel discussion dedicated to the role of digital technologies in tax administration for revenue mobilization and economic development. The event was attended by more than 100 representatives of foreign tax and financial authorities, international financial organizations and development banks. The guests highly appreciated the Russian experience, including the modernization of foreign tax administration systems.

Adilet Dubanaev, Deputy Head of the State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, also joined the panel discussion and spoke about the development of tax administration in Kyrgyzstan in recent years, noting that the technical assistance project implemented by the Federal Tax Service of Russia has played an important role in these changes. In particular, the introduction of solutions such as the Analytical VAT Platform and the Online Cash Registers System helped to more than double the amount of budget revenues while reducing tax rates. Thanks to such results, Russia and Kyrgyzstan decided to continue cooperation in this area until 2025.

Daniil Egorov also discussed the phases and methodology of the World Bank's B-Ready project with Norman Loayza, Director of the Global Indicators Group at the World Bank. The parties shared their views on the components of the business environment assessment in terms of tax compliance and digital services.

In addition, the Commissioner of the FTS of Russia held a meeting with the World Bank Regional Director for East Asia and Pacific, during which they discussed the prospects of providing technical assistance to the countries of the region to improve the tax administration procedures. The representative of the World Bank expressed interest in mutual cooperation in this direction.

Daniil Egorov also discussed with Kenan Yaghi, Minister of Finance of Syria, the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of tax administration. The parties agreed to take further steps to organize training seminars and improve the information systems of the Syrian tax authorities.
