Daniil Egorov, Commissioner of the Federal Tax Service of Russia, and Magzoub Ali Ahmed Elmagzoub, Deputy Secretary General of the Sudan Taxation Chamber, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Technical Cooperation in the Field of Tax Administration between the two tax authorities.
This document will serve as a foundation for future cooperation, with a focus on exchanging best practices and staff training.
During the visit of the Sudanese delegation, the Russian side showcased several automated systems, including the Analytical VAT Platform, the Automated Online Cash Registers Control System, the Special tax regime for the self-employed, Online Digital Tax Regime for SMEs, Digital Tax Services of the FTS of Russia, the Personal Tax Account and the Digital Unified Taxpayers Register. Additionally, the delegation was introduced to the Data Delivery Platform of the Federal Tax Service, the cooperative compliance program as a form of tax control, and the Integrated Debt Management and Administration System.
With intentions to use Russian experience to establish their own services, the Sudanese delegation showed a great interest in the suggested solutions and stated their desire to thoroughly examine them. "We understand that you are now at the beginning of your digital transformation journey, which gives you a special chance to rely on the expertise of colleagues from different countries and implement the most effective and efficient solutions," - Daniil Egorov noted.
Both leaders emphasized that the meeting and the signing of the Memorandum will set the stage for sustained and mutually beneficial cooperation between the tax authorities of the two countries.
