On the 6th of May, the FTS of Russia held an online meeting on the BRICS Tax Cross Learning Lab project operated within the existing Working Groups on Client-Centric Approach in Tax Administration and HR Practices. Experts from tax authorities of Brazil, China, India, South Africa, Egypt, and the UAE took part in the event. The discussion covered the current status, timeline and further steps for the program implementation, along with proposals for the speakers.
Training program within the BRICS Tax Cross Learning Lab that is being developed this year will consist of a dedicated learning stream intended for operational-level specialists responsible for taxpayer interaction. The overall goal of the Lab is to support the development of knowledge and practical skills required for effective performance by strengthening core professional competencies, developing applied role-specific skills, and providing practical approaches that may be useful in day-to-day work.
The BRICS Tax Cross Learning Lab will involve experts from BRICS and BRICS partners tax authorities, as well as representatives from business and academia, covering more than 40 lectures on the topics of client-centricity, open data, feedback collection methods, client satisfaction metrics, AI ethics, and behavioral sciences applications.
The pilot launch of the training program for operational-level specialists is envisaged for 2026, with the future enlargement planned to include a mid-level management stream.
